The first hot air balloon flight is considered to have taken place on 5th June 1783, during which the Montgolfier brothers transported on board the following passengers: a sheep, a duck and a rooster.
Their return proved that the atmosphere is not full of poisonous gases
and opened up the possibility for human crews.
The lighting object was put together from 16 small hand-sewn lanterns, hung from a beautiful piece of old wood, which I found washed up on the sea shore. It can be switched on by a stylish retro dark brown switch. The little lanterns—just as all other textile parts of the lighting object–are fixed with non-toxic adhesive.
Montgolfiers is the interior lighting object and has an extra low voltage electrical system (SELV), uses 9V.
It is connected to the mains via a 230V adapter. The light is constructed using wires and LED diodes in warm&cold white.
